Hello gorgeous! This is my first ever product review and today I will be reviewing a local/drugstore two way cake from Fashion 21. The two-way cake that I got is the one that has tea tree oil. I was originally gonna get the one that has milk moisturizer because it is so yellow(toned) and I've read a lot of good feedbacks about it but the saleslady insisted that I should get the tea tree oil variant because it is more suitable for my skin type. (Btw, my skin type is oily/combo & acne prone)

This is available for only 4 shades. Shades 1-2 has pink undertone and shades 3-4 has yellow undertone. (I got the shade in #3 which is the lightest of yellow toned/based because the saleslady said that it's my perfect shade.)
Available in refill for around 145php
Available on Fashion 21 counter at Watsons and Department stores.
Price: 195php

        INFO:
  • SPF 35+ (to keep your skin protected from the sun)
  • Tea tree oil (it helps to treat acne/blemishes)
  • Can be used as a setting powder right after using a liquid foundation
  • Can be use with damp sponge for a medium to full coverage
This product doesn't have much info on the box so that's all I've got.

(I love how the sponge has a different compartment. Hygienic!)
(PLS excuse my messy background :p)
(I find this unique because typical compacts has its sponge under the powder and this one has its sponge above it)

(Second compartment has the actual product)

Glides smoothly on my fingers :p

 Direction for use:
Fashion 21 Two Way Cake can be applied after liquid foundation or alone. Apply with dry or slightly dampened sponge for smoother coverage. Apply in even strokes working toward the hairline and jaw line. Use sponge of fluffy brush to slightly brush off excess powder.

(bare face)
(Used with a damp sponge)
My thoughts..
I like how this doesn't break me out considering that my skin is prone to acne. May be the tea tree oil ingredient helped. It has a slight minty leaf-kind of scent but that doesn't bother me. Coverage is buildable from medium to full however, I find that full coverage looks cakey on me.  I prefer medium coverage with this product because I like how my natural skin still peeks through but at the same time my redness and other imperfection were concealed. I personally like to use this with a damp sponge for coverage and for longevity. In person, I look flat whenever I have this on. I look lifeless because of the slight pale cast it gives. But I could say that this is photo-friendly!

Verdict..
Oil control for me is average. Stays on for a couple hours. Plus it looks good on touch-ups too! The downside for me is the shade selection they are light so I wonder how they will work on Morenas. Repurchase? YES! but I think I'm gonna go with shade #4. May not be the best out there but for 195php, I think it's worth a try :)

That's it for this review! I hope it help. Thank you, gorgeous for reading!

  1. Wow. I did not know that they now have a variant with tea tree oil. It seems that I would still go for their regular two-way cake. Thanks for the review.

  2. I just bought this product yesterday, and I'm quite satisfied with the results, though I need to retouch after a couple of hours because my face is starting to be oily again. I just love the color and how it blends on my morena skin... :)
